The Terms and Conditions are as follows:
SCHOLARSHIP:
The scholarship includes
- A $2500 cash award
- Attendance at the 2024 Survey and Spatial NZ (S+SNZ) conference including registration, travel, and accommodation costs (www.surveyspatialnzconference.org, 28-30 August 2024, Napier)
- A five minute presentation of their winning submission at the conference.
- Student membership of S+SNZ if not already a member.
ELIGIBILTY
Applications are open to final year students enrolled in a Surveying, Spatial or GIS related course at a New Zealand university or other New Zealand tertiary institute who are New Zealand citizens or permanent residents.
KCT’s decision about awarding or not awarding the scholarship is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
SELECTION CRITERIA
Selection of successful applicant will be based on the following
- Eligibility requirements being met
- Submission of a short (< 1000 words) essay or a video (no more than 5 minutes) on “The Future role of Survey and Spatial Professionals in Climate Change and Disaster Response”
• Information provided by the applicant including a letter stating:
- Why you are taking Surveying and Spatial related course or programme
- Why you are applying for this scholarship.
- Prior tertiary study results
- Referee feedback (for shortlisted applicants)
APPLICATION PROCESS
Applications are open from 1 June 2024 until 30 June 2024.
- Late applications will not be considered.
- Applications for the KCT Survey and Spatial Scholarship must be made on this Application form.
- Applicants will receive a confirmation email that their application has been received.
- Referees will be contacted for shortlisted applicants.
- A notification email about whether an application has been successful or not will usually be sent within four weeks of the application closing date.

The personal information provided in your application will be stored securely and protected against unauthorised access.
GENERAL
KCT may from time to time amend these Terms and Conditions and application information required.
These terms and conditions are governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, the laws of New Zealand.
